About the project....

Hi my name is Nathan and I live in Australia, as you may have seen it's called Metroid Reborn and I've been working on this project in Gamemaker 6.1 and now Gamemaker 7 for some time now on and off (mostly off >.<) Unlike traditional Metroid games this will be set in the top down perspective, so there will unfortionatly be no jumping involved, unless I can work something out, but I will still try to keep that game as close to other Metroid games as possible, making the game have hidden tunnels and power-ups everywhere.

I'm setting this after the events of Metroid Fusion, where Samus heading back to the Galactic Space Federation HQ, comes across an encoded Space Pirate signal. Upon decrypting the signal she learns that the Space Pirates have setup a small base of opereations on the nearby planet of Ephrain, thinking of redeeming herself with the Federation after the incident on the B.S.L. she heads to the planet to wipe out the Space Pirates...

In the following weeks I will be posting updates, and screenshots of the game followed by a short demo for everyone to test out, I expect the demo to be only a couple o
f MB so that shouldn't worry anyone.

Here is a couple of screenshots to keep you interested (Hopefully) for now...

Well thats me for now, but keep an eye out for updates...

  3. Dude, when I read that you were making a Metroid game without jumping, I had to say something. That would be like making a Star Wars movie with no lightsabers...no one is gonna give two craps about it. Now I'm not trying to be mean, I'm actually trying to give you some constructive critisism. Your idea from the top down perspective is original, and if you have good intro music, people will get into it, just reconsider the jumping aspect. Think about how much of Samus and her items involve jumping. You may as well DOOM board game.
